Every custody event — registration, transfer, processing, storage — is hashed with SHA-256 and cryptographically chained to the previous event's hash. To verify integrity we re-hash the live record and walk the chain forward; any mismatch breaks the link and produces an immediate integrity alert in the signed audit report.

Which compliance frameworks does DNACHAIN support?

DNACHAIN provides technical controls that map to HIPAA (BAA available on Professional and above), GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11 electronic records, GxP, and SOC 2 trust-services criteria. Do donors or lab staff need any specialist knowledge to use it?

No. The hash chain is an internal integrity layer — donors, lab staff, and auditors only ever see standard web UIs and PDF reports. There are no tokens, wallets, keys, or per-event fees to manage. The platform handles all hashing and verification automatically.

Can I revoke or update consent after a sample has been processed?

Yes. Consent is versioned and scope-aware. Withdrawing consent is recorded against the donor's samples and hashed into the audit chain, and a database-level cascade immediately blocks any new custody transfers on samples tied to the withdrawn consent — enforcement happens at the data layer, not just the UI, so you can prove exactly when it took effect.

What happens if I want to leave the platform?

Your records and the full hash chain belong to you. You can export your complete audit trail — every custody event, hash, and signed report — at any time, on any plan. The chain is independently verifiable from the export alone, so a third-party auditor doesn't need DNACHAIN to confirm integrity.
